All-Americans by Decade

1980s

The first generation of Utah All-Americans laid the foundation for what would become one of the most successful programs in NCAA history. Led by Sue Stednitz and Elaine Alfano, Utah established itself as a national powerhouse during this decade, winning multiple team titles and producing a steady stream of individual honorees.

1990s

The 1990s were dominated by the legendary Missy Marlowe, whose three consecutive all-around titles from 1990–1992 remain unmatched in Utah history. The latter part of the decade saw the emergence of Theresa Kulikowski, who would carry the torch into the 2000s.

2000s

The 2000s brought Theresa Kulikowski’s triple-crown achievements and the arrival of Ashley Postell, who became the only 20-time All-American in program history. This decade solidified Utah’s position as a perennial contender for the national title.

2010s

The 2010s represented another golden era for Utah gymnastics. Jenny Hansen, Georgia Dabritz, and MyKayla Skinner led a wave of talent that kept Utah among the nation’s elite programs. This decade saw Utah gymnasts earn All-American honors in unprecedented numbers.

A Legacy of Individual Excellence

From Sue Stednitz’s breakthrough beam title in 1982 to the modern era of MyKayla Skinner and Maile O’Keefe, Utah’s champions and All-Americans represent a tradition of excellence that spans more than four decades. These athletes have competed on the biggest stages in collegiate gymnastics, representing the University of Utah with distinction and helping build one of the most storied programs in the sport.

The sheer volume of All-American awards—with over 100 individual gymnasts earning the honor—speaks to the depth and consistency of the Utah program. Under the guidance of legendary coach Greg Marsden and his successor Tom Farden, the Red Rocks have maintained a standard of individual excellence that few programs in any sport can match.
